About INTACH

The indian national trust for art and cultural heritage (intach) is a non-profit organisation set up in 1984

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is a non-profit organisation set up in 1984 with a mandate to protect and conserve India's vast natural, built and cultural heritage. Today, it is the country's largest non-profit membership organisation dedicated to the conservation and preservation of our natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage. Except for a core staff at the headquarters in Delhi, INTACH's enthusiastic volunteers in a network of chapters in cities, towns and villages across the country are largely responsible for the spread of the heritage movement.

INTACH endeavors to preserve and protect the heritage of our country and is aimed at today's young Indians to make them proud of being successors to such rich traditions, customs, festivals and art forms together with a vast architectural heritage created by our forefathers centuries ago. Students are the key to this wonderful movement which is gaining in popularity with them.

INTACH has a network of approximately 150 Chapters all over the country and is responsible for taking up prestigious, country-wide, restoration and documentation projects.
